What is beecrane?
beecrane is a private room in Kaunas where every digital screen is forbidden: phones, tablets, watches, laptops and any other glowing device. Only things that belong to the physical world remain here: mechanical typewriters, pencils, nibs and ink, thousands of paper books, magazines and engineering drawings, slide rules, drafting tables, handwritten letters, postcards and mechanical clocks.
Strict, but fair.
At the entrance, every electronic device is isolated inside a Faraday cage. Membership and time spent inside are recorded on a punch card marked by the administrator on duty. Photography is forbidden because memories must remain in the mind or on paper. You may speak quietly or loudly, but always in person.
How do you enter?
The exact address is known only to members. To become one, write a letter by hand and send it by post. Three days later, you will receive a postcard containing the precise address and your first blank punch card.
